Vision of the Tree of Life - Part 7: The Large and Spacious Building

View Parts 1-6 HERE

"THE GREAT AND SPACIOUS BUILDING REPRESENTS
PRIDE AND THE VAIN THINGS OF THE WORLD THAT
ARE DESIGNED TO DRAW US AWAY FROM THE PATH"

I Nephi 8:26 And I also cast my eyes round about, and beheld, on the other side of the river of water, a great and spacious building; and it stood as it were in the air, high above the earth.

NOTE: 'In the air' signifies the building has no foundation, there is also no foundation for what the people in there are doing.

27 And it was filled with people, both old and young, both male and female; and their manner of dress was exceedingly fine; and they were in the attitude of mocking and pointing their fingers towards those who had come at and were partaking of the fruit.
31 And he also saw other multitudes feeling their way towards that great and spacious building.
32 And it came to pass that many were drowned in the depths of the fountain; and many were lost from his view, wandering in strange roads.
33 And great was the multitude that did enter into that strange building. And after they did enter into that building they did point the finger of scorn at me and those that were partaking of the fruit also; but we heeded them not.
NOTE: The word heed does not mean to obey, but rather to regard with care, to take notice of, to pay attention to, to consider, or to observe. 'But we heeded them not' is one of the most powerful messages in this vision.  We can be surrounded by those who mock and ridicule us, but when God is with us, we realize that we have the power to 'heed them not' and become an 'example of the believers'.

I Nephi 11: 35 And the multitude of the earth was gathered together; and I beheld that they were in a large and spacious building, like unto the building which my father saw. And the angel of the Lord spake unto me again, saying: Behold the world and the wisdom thereof; yea, behold the house of Israel hath gathered together to fight against the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
36 And it came to pass that I saw and bear record, that the great and spacious building was the pride of the world; and it fell, and the fall thereof was exceedingly great. And the angel of the Lord spake unto me again, saying: Thus shall be the destruction of all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, that shall fight against the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
I Nephi 12: 1And the large and spacious building, which thy father saw, is vain imaginations and the pride of the children of men. And a great and a terrible gulf divideth them; yea, even the word of the justice of the Eternal God, and the Messiah who is the Lamb of God, of whom the Holy Ghost beareth record, from the beginning of the world until this time, and from this time henceforth and forever.

'In the air' is also described in Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience...

Why do you suppose the spacious building has such an attraction that it even pulls those who have parten of the fruit, which is 'most desireable 'above all other things?

"I have a feeling that the great and spacious building shines in its most resplendent form in places like the Strip in Las Vegas.  I have a friend who told me with a straight face that driving through that area made him feel like a trout.  How many have succumbed to the brightness of Lucifers lures and been reeled in and placed in the adversary's creel.  Movie marquees, music videos, and the glass and steel towers of the Las Vegas Casinos sometimes have the attributes of this enormous structure."
